
ANNA LAWRENCE
SOPRANO
Anna Lawrence is an award-winning British-Polish soprano, currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music with Marie Vassiliou and Iain Ledingham.
Forthcoming engagements include Miss Jessel in Turn of the Screw in Academy Opera Scenes at the Steiner Theatre and a Recital of Russian Song in the Henry Wood Room, Royal Academy of Music.
In July, Anna will perform the title role of Puccini's Suor Angelica with Connecticut Lyric Opera at the Greve Opera Festival, Italy.

ABOUT ANNA LAWRENCE
At University, Anna undertook lead roles with Aberdeen Opera Society including Tatyana Eugene Onegin, Vixen The Cunning Little Vixen, and 2nd Lady Die Zauberflöte. Since returning to London, Anna performed Micaela Carmen with Brent Opera and the role of Zelatrice Suor Angelica with Minotaur Opera at the Heraklion Festival, Crete.
Professional concert work includes Ein Deutsches Requiem Brahms with Cavalli Players, Resurrection Symphony Mahler with Oxford Philharmonia and Isolde's Liebestod Wagner with London Euphonia Orchestra. Anna was a scene director and singer with Olivier award-winning immersive theatre company You Me Bum Bum Train, performing in over 50 shows in their 2015-2016 production.
Anna was the recipient of the Rachel Barry Bursary from the Aberdeen and North East of Scotland Music Festival, having won the Operatic (2011, 2012, 2013) and the Vocal Solo Soprano (2012, 2013) classes. She also won the prestigious Ogston Music Prize (2013) and the 2009 Annette Martin Singer Competition. In 2012, Anna won the Chris Cadwur James Concerto Competition and performed Berlioz’ Les Nuits D’été with the Aberdeen University Symphony Orchestra. Anna was also a choral scholar for King’s College Chapel Choir whilst studying at University of Aberdeen.
She has been privileged to take part in masterclasses with Dame Emma Kirkby, Sarah Walker OBE with London Song Festival, Sir John Tomlinson and Jennifer Larmore with London Masterclasses, Elaine Kidd with Morley Opera College, Iain Burnside and Susan Bickley with St Andrews Voices Festival. Most recently she was chosen to sing in a masterclass with renowned bass Brindley Sherratt in the new Susie Sainsbury Theatre, at the Royal Academy of Music.

TEACHING
Anna is a sought-after Singing and Piano Teacher. She currently teaches singing at Devonshire House Preparatory School, Hampstead.
Alongside this she has a busy private practice. Lessons take place in her studio or she is happy to travel to NW10, NW6 and NW2.
